Review - SANA Maiko-Han Loose Powder

For those of you not already in the know, this is a line put forth by Japanese Drugstore Cosmetics giant SANA. Ostentatiously they were inspired (and helped!) by the elegant Maiko, or apprentice Geiko/Geisha, from Kyoto. The entire line is based on the products that those ladies traditionally use to achieve their iconic flawless and bewitching beauty. The development and endorsement of the products fell to the lovely Maiko Ichimame of Kyoto (known for blogging about her experiences during her Maiko training).

The loose powder, gel eyeliner and pen eyeliner seem to be the most popular products though .This particular product is a loose powder, available in light pink and light yellowish beige. It is extremely finely milled and contains very subtle shimmers. Usually, these shimmers are completely invisible once applied, but under certain lighting/angles, they do provide a softly illuminated effect. Fret not though, it's never frosty or opalescent regardless of quantity used.

This powder claims :
Hydrating and skin smoothing loose powder goes on translucent and luminous, giving your skin a flawless, glowing finish. Silk powders naturally smooth and hydrate skin, giving your face a soft veil of radiance. Controls excessive sebum without overdrying skin. Scented with cherry blossom.

Packaging
I don't like it because it's too small. Too small and costs so much. it's basically the cap for loose powders that has lots of holes so you don't pour out too much powder.

Puff
it comes with a soft puff which makes application a breeze, like most loose powders

How I Use It
I used to use the puff, but I've since discovered that good powder brushes will be able to work loose powders much, much better, and give that air-brushed dewy look.

The powder is very very fine, soft and incredibly sheer powder image. The glitter was not too prominent and actually made my face have a more natural radiant look, not just a flat matte look.

I love Japanese products and Sana is one of my favorite brands image. I bought this a year ago and it's my favourite pressed powder. I am using this every time I makeup now. But the first impression wasn't too good, and I still don't like the fact that the small size is so small yet so costly.
In blendability image, there it's really good. I use this to blend away concealer, and also set concealer for acne spots. I love the scent. The scent is barely perceptible and this very faint fragrance of. My makeup looks natural and my blusher glides on smoothly and yes the very fine glitter gives my face a natural glow image. So important to set everything and keep the dewy look.

Pros :
Photobucket I love the smell and i love how this looks in the natural light and also in photo
Photobucket Light feeling and not heavy
Photobucket And best, it does have silk in it, which is known to soften skin.
Photobucket very light in color, it is suitable for paler skintones and really gives a glow to one's complexion

Cons :
Photobucket hard to get in my country image
